Toner for the printer can be purchased through the OfficeMax punchout or Amazon. Note: The HP version is worth the extra money, other printer-compatible brands have leaked or lasted for a small fraction of the time when tried in the past. Update here if one is found to be reliable.

We also have access to a color printer in the departmental Graphics Lab (Goldenson 158). It might be a good idea to use it when you need to print an extremely large number of documents or when our printer in the lab is not in a good mood. To use this printer you need to install a driver:

  • Go to \fs-neurobio\neurobio$ and then navigate to the folder called Neurobiology Shared\IT Software\Neuro Printer Setup Scripts.
  • There you will find a folder called Color 9500 Graph Lab Setup.
  • Copy this folder to your Desktop and click on it; it will install automatically. You can delete this folder from your Desktop when you’re done.
  • Mac users: if you open the Printer Setup Utility and browse for a new printer, it should be listed as Graphics Lab - hp color Laserjet 9500.
